Artist Bio:
Kim studied Fine Arts at Kwazulu Natal University majoring in Ceramics, Painting and History of Art. She then owned her own arts and crafts cooperative in Camperdown called "The Hoopoe Hut". She immigrated to New Zealand 20 years ago and began her NZ working career at Mairangi Arts Centre as the arts education coordinator. She taught the Ceramic Diploma students at Hungry Creek Art School for 6 month and then went on to teach the Level 5 Diploma in Special Effects at Cut Above Academy. Following on from her Masters in Arts Management Kim has been working in Arts Management for the last 14 years first at Lake House Arts Centre and now at Estuary Arts Centre. Kim works predominantly in ceramics but enjoys branching out into special effects, body art, wearable art and mixed media.
