PAM DUN
Painter
Artist Bio:
Martins' Bay artist, Pam Dun, paints mainly in oils and acrylics. Her preferred style is loose and impressionistic - she likes to capture the essence of a place or person by simplifying and abstracting rather than focusing on descriptive detail. She particularly enjoys interpreting the NZ landscape and many of her artworks are inspired by NZ coastal scenes and birdlife. With a growing interest in portraiture Pam looks beyond just the physical - her challenge is to capture a momentary reflection of that person's emotional and environmental landscape.
Pam commenced painting as a creative outlet more than 20years ago. Valuing the therapeutic and expressive benefits pf art creation she enrolled at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in 2003. Pam subsequently facilitated art therapeutic groups, workshops and beginner art classes in the Warkworth area. Her work has been exhibited in various NZ galleries and has won awards in recent years.
