Much of Amanda Morton's artistic endeavour has concentrated on figurative work using a wide variety of media in 2D. She enjoys experimenting with a variety of mediums to find excitement in movement or mood in a drawing or painting. Her sculptural ceramic work is a way to further extend her love of organic shapes, textures and colours. The clay often seems to decide how it wants to form and glazes are a special mystery to be teased into submission but never tamed. Life drawing is an integral and on-going part of her work practice, as it constantly challenges and reminds her to draw “what I see, not what I think I see”. Amanda loves the immediacy of a moment captured.
