Welcome to the Mahurangi Artist Network. We are a group of enthusiastic creatives in the Mahurangi region north of Auckland, from Puhoi to Wellsford and all points in between. We get together regularly to network, inspire and support each other. Once a year many of our members participate in our annual Mahurangi Artist Studio Trail.
Held over the first two weekends in February and for many venues, week days in between and Waitangi Day, the Mahurangi Artist Studio Trail brings together artists from many disciplines, schools and techniques. This is your chance to see the working areas of local artists, talk to them about their ideas, watch amazing skills in action, maybe buy some special pieces of art or be inspired to do something for yourself.
The Mahurangi Artist Studio Trail 2026 wound up on Sunday, 8th February, after ten vibrant days that included the holiday weekend celebrating Waitangi Day. What a unforgettable trail it has been and the artists of the Network would like to thank all visitors for their enthusiasm and on-going support of our annual art trail.
This year the Trail grew by a third - a jam-packed map of studios, shared venues, pop-ups and exhibitions that reflected not only an increase in numbers, but an increase in confidence. There were many new artists, new studios, and fresh energy woven throughout the region. Visitors commented again and again on the diversity, quality and warmth of the experience.
