The artists and art community of Mahurangi Artist Network invite you to explore throughout the year, the studios and galleries of the Mahurangi region. Some galleries and studios have stipulated opening hours whereas other artists are happy to open their studios to you by appointment only. So, just call ahead and make a time to visit for your own self-guided art trail.

Karena de Pont is a visual artist whose body of work is an assemblage of different expressions. Well known for her painted bamboo Earth Sticks as a sculptural focal point for gardens and her wall hung sculptural Island series or for her Burnt Offerings landscape and abstract acrylic paintings on charred cedar panels. Whatever the medium used, colour, texture, and the interplay of light are always a consideration in her work.

The OWL Community Arts Hub is a community based social enterprise between the Auckland Regional Council and local artists where 10% of total sales go to a community fund.
