Alexis Waterhouse is a ceramic and glass artist. In pottery, she specializes in sculpture and hand built forms as well as functional and decorative vessels thrown on the pottery wheel. In glass art, she works with fused glass and lead lighting. Often her pieces will contain aspects of both mediums displayed on found pieces of wood. Alexis is currently working on using wild clay that has come down in the 2023 Cyclone slips and repurposing it into both sculptural and functional pieces. Her goal is to turn something that has been dumped on our roadside verges (and is a constant reminder of difficult times had by all) into something beautiful.
