Bonnie Selak is an oil painter exploring fantasy and magical realism. Her work is inspired by magic, nature, joy and symbolism.

Originally from North Canterbury, Bonnie spent ten years living in Wellington. Between 2023 and 2026, she studied part-time at Katz Atelier, developing her skills in traditional oil painting, specifically the Riley Method of painting. In late 2026 Bonnie will be attending Watts Atelier of Fine Arts in California to further develop her skills.

Bonnie is currently writing and illustrating a children's book about fairies. The book explores following your dreams, believing in yourself, friendship, and happiness. She is developing the book in a way that the young readers will be able to see themselves as the main character.

Bonnie aims to create works that invite the viewer into their own world of magic and create a sense of possibility.
