Caroline Bell is a multidisciplinary artist who works in clay, encaustic painting and now also in watercolour. Her abstract paintings loosely represent gardens, wild weather, water and natural elements.

With encaustic painting she is drawn to the wax for its fluidity and depth, and how it can create dynamic 3D surfaces.

Watercolour painting is a new media for her where she is once again drawn to the fluidity of the medium and how “happy accidents“ an be incorporated into the composition.

In clay, she experiments with throwing and hand-building pieces to create organic shapes. Special effects glazes and slips are then applied to create cracks, globules, and playful surfaces. Fire also holds her interest as she experiments with alternative firing techniques such h as Raku and Sagger.
