Maureen lives in Sandspit and is a believer in the "sketch a day theory of the way to happiness". Her sketches have become published books that have led on to teaching sketching and other art practices. She is involved in Urban and Rural sketching.

Her small and large realistic and abstract works in watercolour are romantic and inspiring. A lot of Maureen's work has close connections with the local environment and coastal areas of New Zealand.
