RHANA PANHUIS
Multi-Disciplinary Artist - Ceramics, Painting & Jewellery
021 182-3419
Artist Bio:
Rhana Panhuis is an artist inspired by the natural world. Her work focuses on organic textures and simple, often primitive shapes. She creates jewellery that highlights the natural beauty of jade, keeping forms minimal so the stone can stand out. She also works with metal and mixed media, exploring balance, contrast, and subtle emotion.
Her process is intuitive, building pieces layer by layer. The human figure and emotional expression often appear in quiet, understated ways. There is a sense of tension in her work—between strength and softness, structure and flow.
Her work in the South Island—among vast open landscapes and mountains that sit like sleeping forces—feeds directly into her creative process. Time spent educating and riding horses deepens this connection, shaping a practice grounded in patience, awareness, and quiet responsiveness.
Through her work, Panhuis invites people to appreciate simplicity, texture, and the beauty found in natural forms.
