Tabea has been exploring a variety of different crafts since her childhood and has always been drawing using graphite and coloured pencils, water colour, gouache, ink and markers.

Tabea has been wanting to delve into pottery for a long time as the endless possibilities and the integration of the four elements – earth, water, air and fire - into one craft fascinates her. She finally did a throwing class at the beginning of 2024 and ever since she has been spending her free time exploring this medium, practicing and making functional pieces in her studio in Kaipara Flats. She likes to decorate the simple shaped pieces with illustrative designs integrating her love for the natural world especially the flora, birds and the marine environment.
