YVONNE GRAY
Painter & Mixed Media Artist
Artist Bio:
Yvonne Gray is a contemporary painter, printmaker and mixed media artist whose work explores the emotional resonance of landscape, memory, and place. Over more than two decades, she has developed an intuitive, layered approach that combines atmospheric depth with a strong sense of mood and narrative.
A distinctive feature of Yvonne’s work is the use of intriguing silhouettes—suggestive, often ambiguous forms that add mystery and invite personal interpretation. These figures emerge through richly textured layers of paint and mixed media, sometimes accompanied by fragments of text, patterns, or unexpected marks that draw the viewer in.
Employing a wide range of tools and techniques, Yvonne constructs tactile surfaces that reflect the fleeting qualities of light, movement, and natural energy. Her colour palette moves between vibrant and subdued, expressing both dynamic motion and quiet introspection. Yvonne’s practice is an ongoing exploration of connection, presence, and the unseen layers of the world around us.
